Malyovitsa is a mighty challenge but worth it | Изкачване на връх Мальовица

There are 2 kinds of people - those who will get up at 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning and go to the mountains, and those who wouldn't do this for any reason. People that love going to the mountains know that this place helps you collect your thoughts, makes you feel part of the surrounding nature and its harmony. Most of all, your eyes will take photos you will never be able to forget. You realize how small people are when it comes to mother nature

To be honest, I was sceptic about waking up at 8 a.m. this Sunday, no matter where I was going to. I accepted the challenge though, so I traveled the way to Rila mountain. The initial plan was to climb Malyovitsa peak (2,729 m, the cloudy one on the photo above). It is a mighty challenge, because the way to it is rocky, but they say the steep climb is worth the view.

Malyovitsa hut was the first and last stop on our way to the peak. To climb it, you have to be in a good condition, and we weren't. Despite the failure of the Sunday mission, I got much more than just sleeping at home till noon - mountain air, beautiful snaps and good mood

So, what kind of person are you? Are you a mountain lover?

  2. My husband and I are both early risers and we are also nature lovers. We've been heading to the marina every weekend for a stroll, letting our little one play at a nearby park and just enjoy being by the sea. We haven't taken him to camping or mountain climbing as he's a little too young but we go through nature parks here a lot.

    1. Getting up early and getting the most of the weekend is great but also very hard for some.

  3. I tend to be the type who would like to sleep on the weekend if I have nothing better to do but I'm all for rising early if it means doing something interesting. I don't think i could manage much climbing in my condition but I sure wouldn't mind trying. It's too bad you didn't reach Malyovitsa peak this time but it still sounds like you had yourself an exhilarating experience Sany! And your photos came out beautiful!

  4. Hello Sany! I can't agree with you more - when you're in the mountains, you realize that you're really small when it comes to mothernature! And when we talk about nature, it's really impressive and breathtaking in Malyovitsa, what a terrific location! As always, you did excellent job on the photos, they look like from some geographic magazine ;)
Have a lovely evening, my dear friend ;)

  9. That description is everything. Love so much what you said and I couldn't agree more. I adore mountains and that feeling of being small and surrounded by the nature is what always puts me in a different perspective. That being said, I can't wait to plan another mountain visit. I do love to sleep on weekends but I always, always choose to wake up early when it comes to going somewhere. The pictures are truly breathtaking and actually they relaxed me a lot and today is a busy day. Thank you for sharing all those incredible places! I truly enjoy them :)

  13. I have to say I'm not someone that would get up early to walk up the mountains but from looking at your photos it definitely seems like it would be worth it. My boyfriend loves cycling round the countryside on a Sunday morning too so maybe I should make the effort and get up early one week to join him! x

  15. Hey, Sany, I am definitely a mountain person. If you have checked out my blog , you know that already :))

I love the mountains, the freedom they give you, and the crisp, crystal-clear air. I have climbed Malyovitsa once, but from Ivan Vazov Hut - it is quite the challenge, but the view from the peak is pants-dropping, drop-dead gorgeous, mesmerising...

Next time, call me, and I can guide you :)))

    Gret read!

    1. Hi Svetlio! Wow, this route sounds like a big challenge indeed. I am sure that the view is unique, and to be honest, I regret a bit that I couldn't make it to the top. Next time I hope to be able to do it:)
